Jersey Plants Direct has launched the Flanders Poppy plant collection in support of the Royal British Legion and the 100-year anniversary of the end of WW1.
www.jerseyplantsdirect.com is supporting the Royal British Legion with their ‘plant a real poppy’ initiative and #ThankYou campaigns and will be providing a £1 donation to the charity with every order of their specially sourced Flanders Poppy Plants.
“It’s an opportunity for people to plant their own commemorative garden and support the Royal British Legion too. These poppies will grow and flower during the summer to provide a stunning display and a lasting memory for everyone to enjoy,” said Mike Power of Jersey Plants Direct. “We also believe this is the first time Flanders Poppies have been sold as plants rather than seeds and they are currently being grown and nurtured in our Jersey planting houses ready to be packaged and delivered to gardens throughout the UK.”
The Flanders Poppy Plants are being sold in boxes containing 48 plants, plus a packet of wildflower seeds and feed. They arrive in a tray of 24 individual cells, with each cell tray holding a minimum of two plants.
The Flanders Poppy Plants were officially launched at a special event attended by His Excellency the Lieutenant Governor of Jersey, Sir Stephen Dalton, as well as ex-servicemen, members of the Royal British Legion and school children from Helvetia School in Jersey.
